Mary Aikenhead Ministries

In January 2008, the Congregational Leader Sister Elizabeth Dodds, rsc presented a petition to the Vatican on behalf of the congregation. The petition spells out our request to transfer our incorporated works in Health and Aged Care, Education and Welfare to a new public juridic person (PJP) to be known as Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

It is with great joy that we share with you the news received on 21 May that the Vatican has approved our petition.

We thank God that we can now begin the long process of formal promulgation and establishment of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. During this implementation phase, many people have generously agreed to work with us in a whole range of committees.

Last Wednesday, 22nd September, the Congregational Leader and Council announced the names of the inaugural Trustees of MAM. These are:

  • Elizabeth Dodds, rsc
  • Linda Ferrington, rsc
  • Richard Harpham
  • Rowena McNally
  • David Robinson

To guide this whole implementation phase, Laureen Dixon, rsc has accepted the role of Project Manager.

We wish each one every blessing as they move this significant project forward to its formal establishment anticipated to be around the middle of 2009.
